When retreating into substance inspires us to return to the world refreshed.

Nothing makes my workday like the arrival of my quarterly IFDM WonderBook from Italy.
Their writing, photography and editorial approach profiling interior furnishings, architecture, design, products and people sets an elevated standard of inspiration with depth and substance, in contrast to the vapid advertorial soundbites I find in much of the design press today.

The spring/summer issue came in the post today with perfect timing for a read on the porch in some exceptional Chicago spring weather and sunlight…and provided more than a moment of calm and thought I felt needed to share, as a reminder to all of us as we look for simple ways to retreat yet enhance ourselves for the betterment of our work, lives and what we put out in the world.
This publication and post are much needed reminders as to why I entered into the design field and established my practice in the first place.  If this sounds advertorial so be it, as I think the best secrets should be shared, much like this post. IFDM
Thank you Vanessa Brady for the initial introduction to IFDM and Matteo via iDogi a number of years ago while their guest in Venice. How lucky we are really to unearth the best between friends…
