ESI Ergonomic Solutions provides accessory product solutions to improve efficiency, comfort, flexibility, and mobility for the computer workstation, office, healthcare, and educational environments. ESI is a Nationally Certified Woman-Owned Business and a GSA Contract holder. They are a smart company that focuses on the importance of evolving workplace environments and, in turn, develops custom products and solutions to accommodate these changes.

This was ESI's first year establishing their presence in the Merchandise Mart, and their brand as a national player. Our goal was to activate the deep, narrow space, while maintaining a sense of flow and clarity. It was important to the client to get hallway impact while not blocking the view of product and the showroom. This was achieved by use of a large glass entry with a translucent graphic of the company logo, using vinyl commonly used for automobile window tinting. The client also requested that we open up the back to expose the natural light. Our solution was to create a "loop" through the back area, and allow for divisions of product and a product sequencing from the entry for their team to walk individuals through their line offering.

The displays allow for a hierarchy of organization while also allowing flexibility for them to change and update without having to rebuild every display element. The split-top conference table supports the flow/loop around the space and toward the upholstered banquette seating on the east side of the showroom. As ESI has a line of height adjustable tables that can go from coffee table height to standing height of over 48 inches, we added a large top in two sections to show the contrast and functionality of the table bases while still providing them with a very large conferencing/training area. The back office/break area is finished and accessible so display areas can be expanded during show use.

Information graphics and color are kept to a minimum to allow product to be hero, and not get lost in a sea of details. Plexi panels are used in place of monitors to hold information graphics and allow viewers to see details of hardware.

The final space has an elegant, clean feel that showcases ESI's product while allowing everything else to fall into the background. marquardt+ is happy to be working with such a great new client with ethics, business savvy and clarity.
