The CF Stinson Chicago showroom, their first in the US, was completed by marquardt+ (work performed as Design Collaboratives) in June of 2011. The concept went through multiple ideations and evolved into this simple, interactive work environment with undulating displays that provides draping of large sections of fabric on both sides of the showroom. As well, the worktables provide storage for small samples and large bolts of fabric, which can be unfolded by staff across the worktables, both functioning to support true understanding of the product, and making it extremely accessible to the specifier.

User friendly digital interaction with the CF Stinson website was a major program criteria for the client, which resulted in a store front/corridor touch screen accessible for product specifications and ordering whether the showroom is open or not. All furniture and millwork was custom designed by our studio, including the drum counter stools and banquette seating which double as changeable CF Stinson display and application elements in the showroom.

Special recognition goes to Vince Gammino of marquardt+ who was responsible for the majority of design, development and implementation of this project in coordination with John Rowan, Director of Sales and Business Development and the CFS Design Team.
